Geography

The United States of America consists of 50 states. The U.S. also has a number of territories and outlying areas: Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Midway Islands, Wake Island, Johnston Atoll, Baker, Howland, and Jarvis Islands, Kingman Reef, Navassa Island. The population in these areas often holds American citizenship.

Money

In 1994, the Secretary of the Treasury announced that U.S. currency would be redesigned to incorporate a new series of counterfeit deterrents. The newly designed $100 notes were issued in 1996, the new $50 notes in 1997 and the new $20 notes in 1998. The new $50 note is the first to incorporate a low-vision feature. In year 2000, new $5 and $10 notes were issued.
